Almost on the road...

Well, this is basically my test post to make sure I can do this correctly when I'm off on my own... The countdown currently sits at 4 days, which is still hard to fathom. I have basically finished packing, which is good because my bags are about 1 lb below the 80 lb weight limit-who knew 2 years worth of toiletries could weigh so much!? At this point I have said goodbye to all of my Grand Rapids friends and most of my friends from home. I'm so blessed to have had this time (as short as it has been) to see people, and everyone has blown me away with their love and support. I am leaving with a lot of sweet memories from this time shared with people I truly care about. This weekend will be filled with family celebrations, as my cousin Becky is getting married and we will also be celebrating my trip. On Sunday and Monday I will go down to Ohio to visit Jason, Holly, the girls, and my brand new foster nephew! I can't wait to meet little Charles before I go and spend some quality time with my brother and sister-in-law.

I will fly out of O'Hare on Tuesday afternoon and be arriving in Philly in the evening, where our pre-service training (staging) will be taking place until Thursday, when we leave for Ghana. I cannot believe how soon this is all happening, and that I received my invitation only 5 weeks ago. So much has happened since then, I can't even imagine what is coming next. Keep me in your prayers, and I'll keep you posted!
